LEMON – AVOCADO Sherbet

 

1      large avocado, halved, seeded, peeled,

        and cut up

1      cup half-and-half or light cream

2/3  cup powdered sugar

1/2  teaspoon finely shredded lemon peel

1/3  cup lemon juice

        In a blender combine avocado, half-and-half, powdered sugar, finely shredded lemon peel, and lemon juice. Cover and blend until smooth. Pour avocado mixture into a 2-quart square baking dish. Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.

To serve, let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes. Cut into squares (or use icecream scoop)  and divide among serving bowls.  MAKES 8 SERVINGS.

Garlic and Herb Pretzels

Ingredients:

2 packages yeast
4 cups flour, more if needed
1 1/2 cup warm water
2 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon basil
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon parsley

Drirections:

Dissolve yeast in water. Add salt and sugar. Blend in 2 cups flour. Crush garlic and add with herbs. Add 2 cups more flour, and more if dough is too sticky. Roll into snakes and shape. Sprinkle with Kosher salt if desired. Bake at 425 for 10-15 minutes or until browned.
