A lot has been happening  lately in my life. Mostly cuz I’m on vacation! Yay!  To start off I went to a weekend retreat for young adults at Alacca.

The retreat was so fittingly named ‘Armor Up’. Based off of:

1 Peter 4:1 (King James Version)

Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin.

We heard from speakers Mark Kennedy,Josh Harris and Mark Cahill.

I had the best time I’ve had in a long time. I really want to go next year. If you’d like to go too here’s the place to find the info: http://www.alacca.org/camp-schedule-fees.html

So,then my mom and I traveled quite a ways, to see some family and eat some really great food and do some shopping.
First we met my aunts, cousins and gramma at a Thai buffet. Which was really fun cuz I hardly ever get Thai food,so I got to try a lot of variety.
Then,we went shopping….which if you know me is not exactly my favorite thing to do. But,I got some summer clothes I was in need of.

My highpoint of the day was going to the Baguette Deli -Vietnamese Sandwiches on French baguettes with an Asian twist.

Ok,this place is so good they got a write-up in their local paper. Read it!

I got to stay at my aunt’s cute apartment, ride around with city drivers, hang out with family,go swimming and best of all surprise a couple of people with birthdays close at hand with cakes. (as pictured in my last post)
Wow…now I’m almost ready to see the five-year-old that I watch the other 50 weeks of the year. Who sent me a post card from her vacation. 🙂

Crazy Love~

Just last Friday, I was pleasantly surprised to receive this book…

By: Francis Chan

I had heard about it before and I really wanted to read it. Especially after talking with someone who had enjoyed it.

So,when it was handed to me the other night, I felt really loved.

That was the  title of my very first post….

One year ago today!

Yes,it’s my blog’s birthday.

It’s been a good year

Around this time of year everybody’s talking about Mary’s response.

Luke1:38And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

 39And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

She was told what God was going to do and how. She trusted and took action. She got to do something prophesied and something she probably always wanted to do.

What about Saul?

Acts9:3And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

4And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

6And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Not that guy! (Tho that was pretty good)

I meant KING Saul.

1Samuel10:20And when Samuel had caused all the tribes of Israel to come near, the tribe of Benjamin was taken.

21When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found.

22Therefore they enquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet come thither. And the LORD answered, Behold he hath hid himself among the stuff.

Yeah,fine response!

How about Jonah…..never mind,forget it.

Hudson Taylor in China-

“If I had a thousand pounds China should have it- if I had a thousand lives, China should have them. No! Not China, but Christ. Can we do too much for Him? Can we do enough for such a precious Saviour?”

Lesson? When God tells you to do something watch your response.

     People could talk about later.

My voice is gone…

…I gave it away last night. I finally got a chance to go to the Grangeville Health and Rehab Center for a service. The church that I attend has the month of Dec. to go up there and put on a service for them. I went with the pianist. We met the pastor from Stites and his wife. I passed out baptist hymn books and sang. And sang. And sang. After 6 or 7 Christmas carols a few hymns and more carols I didn’t have much left. Then we sang two more songs. Wow. But It was fun.

After the message I picked up the hymn books. I held a lady’s hand. She couldn’t say much. She just wanted me to hold her hand. So,I did, until she was done. After that she wanted to talk to the pastor and repented of her sins asking Jesus to save her.

Then the four of us went out to eat and fellowship before the long drive home.

I think I sang to much…but maybe not.
